Continuing Education

In order to be eligible for renewal of the Ohio license, an Acupuncturist must certify to the Board that he or she has:

  • Maintained certification by the National Commission on Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as either a diplomate in Oriental Medicine or a diplomate of Acupuncture and Chinese herbology, and

  • Successfully completed one, six-hour course in herb and drug interaction approved by the NCCAOM in the four years immediately preceding the expiration date of the applicant's current and active designation from the commission.

The Board may require a random sample of practitioners to submit materials documenting certification by the NCCAOM. It is imperative that you maintain accurate records of CE activities for purposes of possible audit.
