The Cosmetic Therapy Advisory
Committee (CTAC) was established by the State Medical Board of Ohio on August
11, 1999 to assist the Board and its Limited Branch and Alternative Medicine
Committee as they address issues regarding the regulation of the practice of
cosmetic therapy and the education, training and licensure of Licensed
Cosmetic Therapists in the State of Ohio.
Scope of the Committee:
The Committee reviews and submits
recommendations to the Board concerning the following:

Education, testing, and
registration requirements for CTs;

Existing and proposed rules
pertaining to the practice of cosmetic therapy;

Application procedures and
forms for certificates for CTs;
-
Registration and renewal
fees required by Chapter 4731., O.R.C.;

Any issue the Board asks
the Committee to consider.
Requirements for Committee
Members:
To be eligible for appointment to
the CTAC, a person must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice
cosmetic therapy in the State of Ohio and/or operate a cosmetic therapy school
that holds a Certificate of Good Standing from the Medical Board. The Limited
Branch and Alternative Medicine Committee and its staff review applications
for appointment to the CTAC and makes recommendations to the full Board which
has final authority to make the appointment. The Board attempts to assure
representation of all viewpoints within the cosmetic therapy community
statewide by seeking to appoint representatives of the cosmetic therapy
professional associations, school representatives, private practitioners, and
members from geographically distinct areas of the State.
