of Ethical Practice for Cosmetic Therapists
(International Guild of Professional Electrologists)
1.
Criteria for sterilization and sanitation shall be implemented and
adhered to, in accordance with state licensing regulations and/or
recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control.
2.
All devices, instruments and epilators shall conform to the
currently acceptable standards related to these devices and should be FCC
approved.
3.
Permanent hair removal is effected by needle or probe type
epilators
using approved electrical modalities.
4.
Members shall refrain from unmannerly use of language and
deportment especially when representing the profession in public.
5.
Advertising should be dignified and true and follow the precepts
suggested by the Guild as appropriate.
6.
Members shall not disparage a member nor impugn their
aptitude or ability. When
such issues arise, the filing grievance is appropriate as defined in the
Guild by-laws.
