According to Ohio Revised Code Section 4730.14(B), to be eligible for renewal, of your certificate to practice as a physician assistant shall certify to the board that the physician assistant has maintained certification by the national commission on certification of physician assistants (NCCPA) or a successor organization that is recognized by the board. The physician assistant must complete during the current certification period not less than one hundred hours of continuing medical education acceptable to the board.
CME required for renewal of certificate to prescribe
According to Ohio Revised Code Section 4730.49, to be eligible for renewal, of your certificate to prescribe as a physician assistant, an applicant
shall complete every two years at least twelve hours of continuing education in pharmacology from an accredited institution recognized by the state medical board. See the CME chart for the required hours for this renewal period.
