State Medical Board of Ohio Announces New and Amended Rules
Effective November 30, 2010

This message is to update you on rules recently adopted by the State Medical Board of Ohio. 

The following rules have been officially adopted by the State Medical Board of Ohio, with an effective date of November 30, 2010.  The rules had been the subject of a public hearing on September 27, 2010.

1.  The following rule is amended to allow a psychiatrist to prescribe to a patient whom the psychiatrist has not personally examined, when specified requirements are met.

4731-11-09   Prescribing to persons not seen by the physician.

2.  As of November 30, 2010, the following rules concerning sexual misconduct will be applicable to ALL MEDICAL BOARD LICENSEES. 

4731-26-01   Definitions (related to sexual misconduct).

4731-26-02   Prohibitions.

4731-26-03   Violations, miscellaneous.
