Newly Adopted and Amended Rules

The Medical Board adopted new and amended rules that are effective on 6-30-17.

Podiatric licensure rules: 4731-12-01, 4731-12-02, 4731-12-04, 4731-12-05, 4731-12-06 and 4731-12-07. (Please note: Rule 4731-12-03 was filed as a “no change” rule and will continue on without having to be re-adopted.)

Physician license application and renewal is unavailable June 9 – 19 while the State Medical Board of Ohio converts MD, DO, DPM licenses, training certificates, special certificates and supervision agreements to a new online system. There will also be limited access to records and pending applications during the conversion. Starting June 19 all license applications will be online and paper applications/checks will no longer be accepted.

If your license expires July 1, you are strongly encouraged to renew NOW. The State Medical Board of Ohio will be changing online licensure websites in June 2017. All systems are anticipated to be unavailable from June 2 – June 19. You will not be able to renew your license during the outage.

Physicians and Training Certificate holders with an approaching renewal deadline: You are strongly encouraged to renew your license BEFORE June 2. Log on to https://license.ohio.gov to get started. Chrome will not work properly with the physician online renewal website.
All other license holders with a July 1, 2017 renewal deadline: Consider renewing before June 2 to avoid system outages. Click here to renew: https://elicense.ohio.gov.

Renewing early does not change future license expiration dates. Paper licensure applications for MD, DO, DPM and training certificates will not be accepted after June 19.

Important Update from OARRS

On April 25, 2017, the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS) upgraded to its new software platform.

While every attempt was made to ensure a smooth transition, the Pharmacy Board is aware of some access issues and is working diligently to correct these issues.

For those currently experiencing access issues, please be aware of the following:

The new system uses e-mail addresses rather than user names. If you do not recall the e-mail address linked to your OARRS account, you will have to contact the Pharmacy Board at 614-466-4143 option 1, or by email at info@ohiopmp.gov. Due to the upgrade, they are experiencing higher volumes of phone calls and emails than usual. They will address your issue as soon as they can.

The new system cannot import your previous password. All users are required to reset their passwords when they login for the first time. To reset your password, use the Password Reset link on the login page. If your account is not able to be found, please register for a new account. If you are otherwise unable to reset your password, please call the Pharmacy Board at 614-466-4143, option 1.
