License Renewal
Licenses issued effective 10/17/19 and thereafter will expire two years after the original date of issuance:
for existing license holders, the renewal deadline will continue to be on the same date as it is currently
for new license holders this means renewal will occur on the two-year anniversary of initial issuance and every two years thereafter
pro-rated CME applies only to initial licenses issued prior to 10/17/2019 with less than 18 months of licensure.

If you have not created an account in
eLicense
, please do so. This is the portal where you will apply for and renew licenses. It will also provide you and your employers with printable and electronic license verification. eLicense allows you to update your address and supervision of exempt practitioners. Name changes can be requested through eLicense via a service request. Click "options" after logging into eLicense to submit your changes.
Late License Renewal
Late renewal is applicable if the license has lapsed for less than two years.
License Restoration
An individual should apply for a restoration application if their license has been inactive for two years or more. A license may be restored upon an applicant's submission of a restoration application, the restoration fee and submission of criminal background checks. Please note: The board may require additional training or examination, or both, of any applicant who for the two years or more immediately preceding the date of application has not been engaged in clinical practice. Limited Permit License Renewal (expires 10/31 or 4/30 based on issuance date) $65.00
Transaction fee $3.50
Jurisprudence
Each applicant for renewal or restoration of a license shall complete at least one continuing education unit of board approved education in jurisprudence (
ORC 4759
). After viewing the video, you must complete the quiz and retain the certificate of completion for your records. When completing renewal on eLicense.ohio.gov, please attest that you have completed this requirement.

The posted jurisprudence course will be accepted as continuing education credit for renewal dates through 12/1/20. If your renewal date is after 12/1/20, please check back after December 1 for guidance.
